I became an Accountant, (EW ACCOUNTANT), in 2005, after graduating from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) with a Business Administration-Accounting degree.
I never thought I would become an Accountant, until an Accountant prepared my taxes incorrectly, and his mistakes with our tax filings resulted in my wife and I owing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approximately $60,000.00 in back taxes, plus penalties and interest.
Very scary times to say the least. We eventually resolved the issue with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I then decided that I would learn how to prepare taxes, and help others prepare their taxes as accurately as possible so that no one I worked with would, hopefully, never have their income taxes prepared incorrectly, and have to experience the stress that goes along with owing inaccurate federal or state income taxes.
